Hi everyone, my name is Ida. I live in a town called Joensuu where I'm finishing my degree at the University of Eastern Finland. My major subject is literature and minor subjects are Finnish language and pedagogical studies for subject teachers. I've been teaching Finnish to foreigners since May 2020. I teach privately online and in person at an adult education center in Joensuu. During these years I've met students from all around the world and from all skill levels. Teaching Finnish is very meaningful to me because I can help people create a better life for themselves. I also enjoy the variety - each working day is different from the last. I'm a positive and social person. I enjoy communicating with different people and I get to know people easily. I'm also very flexible and willing to try new ways to teach and guide students. Challenges motivate me to grow and develop my skills. Reading and writing are my greatest passions. I read a lot of books both in Finnish and in English. I also have multiple on-going writing projects. My other hobbies are cooking, baking and handcrafts, especially knitting.
